Getting to Hvar by Car - Croatian Highway
By Car
You have to drive approximately 390 kilometres from Croatia’s northern borders to Split from where you can take the ferry to Stari Grad on Hvar Island. There are modern motorways connecting Split and southern Croatia with the northern parts. The comfortable journey, which goes through an amazing and shifting landscape, takes about 4-5 hours. The journey from Split to Stari Grad takes one and a half hour by ferry. When you come to Stari Grad you have to drive for approximately 15-30 minutes until you reach Hvar Town. When coming from Stari Grad you will enter Hvar Town from the east. When you reach the large parking lot near the town centre continue to drive ahead and around the town. Please see the map! Getting to Hvar by airplane - Split Airport
By Airplane
Split Airport (www.split-airport.hr) is closest to Hvar. Split is connected with larger cities throughout Europe and the flight duration to/from cities such as London, Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm is around two hours. There is organised bus transportation from Split Airport to Split Harbour. When you reach Split Harbour go to the office of Jadrolinija (www.jadrolinija.hr) and ask about regular connection to Hvar Town. The journey from Split to Hvar Town takes only one hour with the catamaran (passengers only).



Getting to Hvar by train - Split
By Train
The closest train station to Hvar Town is in Split. This station is right next to the bus station and ferry port from where you can take the catamaran to Hvar Town. Split is connected with all major cities in Croatia and indirectly with almost all European countries. Getting to Hvar by ferry boat - Jadrolinija

Hvar Island is connected with mainland by several boat lines: - Split - Stari Grad; Drvenik - Sucuraj; Split - Hvar Town - Fastboat connection: Split - Hvar Town/Hvar Town - Split - Ferry connection: Split - Hvar Town/Hvar Town - Split - Ferry connection: Split - Stari Grad/Stari Grad - Split - Ferry connection: Drvenik - Sucuraj/Sucuraj - Drvenik In the summer ferry connections with the island is intensified. Hvar Island is connected through the central port in Stari Grad. The island is connected by the coast ferry connection Rijeka - Zadar - Split - Stari Grad - Korcula - Dubrovnik – Bari (Italy), the international fast boat connection Pescara (Italy) - Stari Grad - Split and by the international ferry connection Ancona (Italy) - Stari Grad - Split - Korcula. Jadrolinija is the main boat operator and has all main ferry and boat lines in Croatia.
